Quiznos
Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Clondalkin, Dublin 22. 01 6239144
It hurts for me to go to places like this as I hate all things DIY, in fact I think I’m going to rename it DIE!!
So we stopped in at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre food court to get something to tide us over. Normally we’d hit Eddie Rockets but its quite expensive there for what you get and even though we love it, we hate the prices. Also, we were after something more healthy as an evening of delicious Curry was beckoning.
We settled on Quiznos in the food court. I was a Quiznos virgin. Stephen was not so he assured me the food is good and it’s inexpensive. Staring at the menu I could see he was right. It’s similar to Subway but seems (from my brief time there) to be a little healthier.
The Sandwich of the day, Mon-Sun, is only €3.99 which is not bad at all for what you get. Stephen ordered said sandwich which turned out to be the Hot Beefeater – Tender roast beef drenched in au jus, fresh mushrooms, green peppers and onions with mozzarella cheese and Italian seasonings. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Guacamole Real turkey breast, hearty bacon, guacamole, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cool ranch dressing and Italian seasonings. We were given the choice of medium or large. We, trying to be restrained, order the medium subs. We were also offered a choice of white, brown or ciabatta bread. He chose brown while I went for the ciabatta. No surprise there.
Oh My God! My Sub was de…lic…ious! Stephen loved his too. (Even though I think mine was way nicer than his, but he’d never admit to that).
So we got 2 very well made, amply filled, yummy sandwiches and a bottle of ice cold sparkling water for €11! Not bad at all. You’d barely get a burger and fries for one person in Eddie’s for that.
There always seems to be seating outside Quiznos even when the food court is crazy busy, and the people working there were very pleasant indeed.
I’d recommend it. We left satisfied, feeling virtuous and still with money in our pockets
